Getting your Deskphone and Mobile App Ringing Together

To correctly set up your Bria app on iPhone or Android, you first need to create a telephone extension that can use used by the app. You cannot have the same extension on different phones. To do this, proceed as follows:

1. Go to the buzzbox dashboard, normally at http://192.168.1.201 in your web browser (or cloud customers use the address in your welcome email eg. http://yourname.buzzbox.cc) and login (buzzbox / buzzb0x for user / password)

2. Click Add/Edit extension and add a new extension for your user eg. 6101 – for the 'secret' CRUCIAL: ENTER A VERY SECURE PASSWORD. Normally it is best practice to copy/paste the secret used by another extension on the right hand side.

3. Once done, click the grey 'Submit' button.

4. Now click Applications -> Follow Me

5. We will assume that the person with the app on their mobile will also have a standard desk phone. So in this instance, select their desk phone extension from the list on the right hand side

6. Now you'll see a list of extensions with just one number in it on the left (their current extension number). Add the new extension we just created underneath it

7. Now press 'Submit' button at the bottom

8. Now finally press the red 'Apply Changes' button that appears at the top

Now, we have configured buzzbox so anyone attempting to call the user on their desk phone extension will cause the system to ring not only that desk phone, but also their mobile app simultaneously.

The final step is to configure the mobile device. A configuration guide can be found here (it applies for iPhone and Android despite the title):

The main details you will require though are:

1. Call server address which will be supplied by buzzbox, normally in the format of something like yourco.dyndns.info (or cloud customers use the address in your welcome email eg. yourname.buzzbox.cc)

2. Account name / name / auth username will always be the extension we created above eg. 6101

3. The auth password / password is the 'secret' we specified in step 2 when we created the new extension

Armed with those three pieces of information, you should be connected without configuring much else.
