Transferring calls between phones

To transfer a call is easy. There are two ways:

1. Assisted

2. Blind

1. Assisted Transfer

Assisted transfers are transfers that allow you to announce the caller to the third party before putting them through. To transfer in this way:

1. Press the [Trns] button or [XFer] button depending on handset

2. Dial the extension number in question (or indeed an external phone number) and press the [Call] or [Dial] button

3. When the destination answers, you have an opportunity to introduce the caller first eg. "Dave's on the phone for you, do you want to take it?"

4. Assuming the answer is 'yes', press the [Trns] or [XFer] button again and then hang up

5. If the answer is 'no' wait for the remote caller to hang up and the call will be returned to you by pressing the [Rsum] or [Resume] button

2. Blind Transfer

This transfers the call immediately and you have washed your hands of it.

1. Press the [Trns] button or [XFer] button depending on handset

2. Dial the extension number in question (or indeed an external phone number) and press the [Call] or [Xfer] button

3. Now hang up
